Nuclear Operations & Facilities welcomes new Manager of Commercial Operations
Nuclear Operations & Facilities (NO&F) is pleased to announce that Dr. Artem Lebedev has joined the NO&F team as Manager, Commercial Operations.
Dr. Lebedev has over 10 years of experience in nuclear research and industry. Prior to joining NO&F, Artem worked as a Chief Technology Officer at TraceAbility – a startup that introduced a first-of-its-kind fully integrated system for quality control of radiopharmaceuticals to the market. He received his Master of Science degree from the Higher Chemical College in Moscow, his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Moscow State University and completed his postdoctoral research on molecular imaging at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.
Dr. Lebedev also previously worked as a Staff Scientist at Siemens Healthcare, where he provided scientific support for early-stage clinical trials of PET imaging agents and developed automated systems for radiochemical synthesis. He was also an Associate Scientist at the University of California, where he advanced electrochemical methods in radiochemistry.
“McMaster Nuclear Reactor is a unique organization. Of course, it’s an incredibly rare opportunity to work within a nuclear reactor, but this role also presents an amazing opportunity to work with a diverse and motivated group of people,” says Dr. Lebedev.
“Making use of chemical jargon, I can say that this energy really excites me and I’m looking forward to contributing to the bright future of nuclear operations at McMaster.”
With responsibilities in customer and contract management and business and research development, Dr. Lebedev will play a key role in identifying and evaluating commercial and strategic opportunities for NO&F – meeting with established and prospective customers to identify new opportunities for business and ensuring customer expectations are fulfilled.
“I am pleased to welcome Artem Lebedev to the Nuclear Operations & Facilities team. His wealth of knowledge and experience in the nuclear industry will add tremendous value to NO&F’s commercial operations,” says Chris Heysel, Director of McMaster’s Nuclear Operations and Facilities.
“Working alongside our development, research, production and engineering staff, Artem will help the University secure and grow relationships with our partners in nuclear and ensure that our customers in Canada and abroad have access to the latest innovations in nuclear medicine, energy, and technology.”
McMaster’s Nuclear Operations & Facilities has approximately 275 commercial customers from around the world who access a suite of products and services, including custom-made radioisotopes, core irradiations through the McMaster Nuclear Reactor, neutron activation analysis, neutron radiography, and much more.
