Nuclear Operations & Facilities Welcomes Summer Students
Every summer, the McMaster Nuclear Operations and Facilities group hire students from various faculties to work as research assistants at various nuclear research facilities on campus from the accelerator to operating the nuclear reactor. McMaster is the only university in Canada where undergraduate students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a medium flux nuclear reactor as a part of their educational experience. Students are given the chance to take a photo standing on the bridge directly above the nuclear reactor.
Students in the summer of 2018 also travelled around Hamilton and conducted presentations about radiation and nuclear science at Stem Science camps.
